Human Rights Lawyer: Release Zakzaky Before He Turns Blind
MEP: A human rights lawyer has urged to release Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the Nigerian Shiite leader before he becomes blind.
Fami Falana, a Nigerian lawyer in court of ‘Abuja’ said, as a result of the army attack in Zakzaky’s home, he lost sight in one eye and may lose both of his eyes.
Falana called on Nigeria government to release the leader so he treats his eyes.
Despite being mentioned in Nigeria’s law that the reason for the arrest and charges of the suspect should be told within 48 hours but Zakzaky is held in prison without knowing the cause so far.
Nigerian army arrested the Shiite leader over false claiming that Shiites had planned to assassinate the country’s army chief.
