Kunduz Governor: Taliban Receives Aid From Russia
MEP: Kunduz provincial governor Asadullah Amarkheil said the armed Taliban in the province, trying to fight with the government of Afghanistan by getting help from Russia.
Omarkheil made the remarks at a meeting with National Security Advisor Hanif Atmar, the ministers of defense, interior and commander resolute support mission forces in Kunduz.
“I think our enemy has pleaded help from the Russian side and wants to form relations with the country, therefore they may have received assistance from them” he said.
Kunduz governor says that Russia is also willing to help and have a relationship with the Taliban, adding that the Afghan government should ban the group’s funding sources.
Some of the Lawyers Council of Kunduz province and tribal elders in the meeting, criticized of deterioration of the security situation in the city and accused the central government of neglect in this area.
Abdul Ghafoor Hotak head of youngsters in the province said “if the government fails to provide security within the next two months, they will revolt against the government”.
Meanwhile, Hanif Atmar said that in order to clean Kunduz and Badakhshan provinces in the near future will launch wide-range operations.
He said “this time the operation would not be launched to defend Kunduz and Badakhshan, but to fight inside the Taliban’s homes and destroy them”.
